Dr. Wendell “Skip” Pilgrim

Skip PilgrimDr. Wendell “Skip” Pilgrim received his Bachelor of Science in Bible and Mission at the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, followed by his Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University. Dr. Pilgrim is a 2007 graduate of the Collin County Law Enforcement Academy; has his master credential in Reentry/Leadership from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois, and advance certification in Stress Management and Trauma Recovery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Dr. Pilgrim has over 30 years of pastoral experience as a senior pastor and nine years of experience working for the Collin County Sheriff’s Office as the Inmate Programs Coordinator. Dr. Pilgrim currently serves as the lead chaplain for the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in McKinney, Texas.


Dr. Pilgrim wants his clients to know from the outset that he will show them care and compassion throughout their counseling experience. He has a unique ability to understand the clients’ presenting problems, enabling him to assist them in finding positive and healthy solutions. His desire is to always help his clients find true Christ-centered hope, health and healing. Dr. Pilgrim’s course of treatment for his clients is faith based and designed to create a confidence and a passion for a healthy lifestyle.

A native Texan, Dr. Pilgrim has been a Collin County resident for over 30 years. He has been married to his wife, Donna, for more than 40 years. They have five grown children and 10 grandchildren. Dr. Pilgrim is a published author and conference speaker. His hobbies are playing music, writing, camping and trout fishing.
